Transform Your Smile With These Steps

  • Personal Smile Assessment

    Personal Smile Assessment

Contact us for a consultation to discuss your missing teeth options. We will assess your condition using digital 3D technology and prepare a plan for your treatment. If you are lacking bone, we will propose advanced graftless options that are available to overcome lack of bone.

  • See How Your Smile Will Look

See How Your Smile Will Look

Using our state-of-the-art intra-oral 3D scanner technology, we plan your treatment in meticulous detail depending on your final decision, and, if desired, avoiding major pre-implant bone grafting surgery in most cases.

  • Implants Treatment

    Implants Treatment

If using All on 4 or alternatives such as graftless zygomatic or pterygoid implants, or patient specific 3D customised titanium implants, the implant placement surgery will be scheduled usually as a day-case under intravenous sedation. This means you can leave the practice with ‘same day teeth’. If using general implants, once your teeth implants have fused with the bone, we can place your crown, bridge, or denture and you can look forward to revealing your brand-new smile.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why should I have treatment with Professor Ucer?

A professor and academic lead of the MSc in Implantology at the University of Salford, Professor Ucer has trained hundreds of dentists through the training programmes he has led since the 1990s. As a specialist oral surgeon, he has a full-time referral implant and oral surgery practice dedicated to implant reconstructive treatment, major bone reconstructive and regenerative treatments including the graftless option of Zygomatic implants, pterygoid implants, and 3D printed patient specific implants.

He has placed approximately 20,000 implants in his lengthy career and places hundreds of implants annually. He has been invited as an author to develop UK and European guidelines in training and education in implant dentistry. He is also an invited international speaker in dental implants.

He has developed special protocols and processes that streamline dental implant treatment, including grafting. He is director of ZAGA Manchester Centre - a global network of approximately 50 centres of oral surgeons who provide advanced zygomatic implant treatments for the reconstruction of severely atrophic jaw that does not necessitate bone grafting in advance.

He is a researcher clinically and academically and has published and cited in scientific literature regularly. Professor Ucer’s special research interests include bone grafting, graft-less zygomatic implant reconstructions, and the use of 3D computer-aided surgical navigation techniques.

He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Dental Trainers at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, a Fellow of the British Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI), Fellow of College of General Dentistry (UK) and a member of the Faculty of Examiners for the RCSEd Diploma in Implant Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.

He operates from a dedicated dental implant hospital, which offers state-of-the-art 3D digital dental technology, a diagnostic CT scan imaging centre, and a day care surgery suite run by a team of highly trained consultant anaesthetists, nurses, dental technicians and specialists. They offer day care surgery under sedation for nervous patients or treatment of anxious patients. Dental implant treatment is prepared using the latest 3D digital planning and guided surgical techniques. In cases of severe bone loss, where zygomatic implants are not available (e.g. in the lower jaw), 3D digitally designed and CAD CAM-produced customised patient-specific implants can be used to simplify the surgery and improve the treatment outcome.
  • What are the costs of dental implants with Professor Ucer?

The initial consultation fee is £185 and single implant treatment costs usually between £1800 to £2500 depending on the need for bone grafting or other preparatory treatment. Full arch same day teeth costs range from £9500 to £15,000 per arch, depending on the type of treatment, patient condition and type of implants required (excluding the sedation fees).
  • Why should I choose implants?

There are other options available for teeth replacement, including bridges and dentures. However, neither of these offer the same strength, durability, and aesthetic appeal as a tooth implant. By fusing to the jawbone, implants create the next best thing to a natural tooth root, removing any potential eating or speech issues. Long term research has categorically demonstrated the benefits of implants functionally and in comfort and how they increase the quality of life for patients who have edentulism and missing teeth.
  • Am I suitable for tooth implant treatment?

Most people are suitable candidates for a tooth implant if they are generally healthy and have good oral health. We will thoroughly discuss your overall suitability for dental implants treatment at your initial consultation. Some people are rejected by their local dentists if they lack adequate bone to support implants. In our specialist centre we offer all spectrum of implants including highly specialised zygomatic, pterygoid and 3D customised patient specific titanium implants that do not require major bone grafting.
  • How long does the dental implant treatment process take?

The whole process, from consultation with the dental implant dentist to your final fixed replacement teeth, can take several months. The implant surgery is a relatively quick procedure, but the implants themselves need around 3-6 months to heal and fuse before fixed permanent teeth can be placed. The treatment process will be longer if you need a bone graft or other procedure first, but your new smile will be more than worth it in the end.

If specialised solutions such as zygomatic, pterygoid and customised implants that do not require bone grafting are used the treatment can be initially completed on the day of implant placement (same day teeth) or within a few days (next day teeth).
  • How long do dental implants last?

Statistics show dental implants last at least 10-15 years, making them the ideal treatment for teeth replacement. However, they can last much longer provided they are surgically placed correctly and accurately and looked after properly. Professor Ucer has been treating patients since the 1990s, and most are still happily benefitting from their implants after two decades. Maintaining an excellent brushing and flossing routine, looking after your general health, and attending regular check-up appointments with your dentist are essential long term requirements. The crown or bridge that the implant supports may need to be replaced over time due to normal wear and tear.

Existing untreated gum disease or heavy smoking are risk factors that can affect the success of implant treatment. Active gum disease is first diagnosed and controlled to ensure a successful outcome. A patient’s general health could reduce the long term success, with uncontrolled diabetes and immune disorders seen as risk factors, but these conditions are investigated and controlled in conjunction with the patient’s medical practitioner before commencing implant treatment.
