Industry leading oral surgery and implant treatment
Our highly trained team is led by Professor Ucer benefitting from his direct mentorship based on his 30 years of education, case documentation, teaching, research & innovation and his work in co-authoring the national UK standards in implant dentistry. UK specialists and consultants undergo rigorous specialist training and are highly trained and experienced surgeons who spend years in hospital and clinical training, education and on-going assessments and peer review.
Specialists and consultants also teach and train junior surgeons by providing them continuous academic, educational and clinical supervision.
As a GDC registered specialist with international recognition, Professor Ucer regularly receives secondary referrals from his postgraduate trainees and colleagues who ask him to provide treatment to their patients on referral in very complex cases. This also involves remedial treatment of cases that have gone badly wrong or resulted in significant complications.
What can I expect from my first consultation with Professor Ucer?
During your initial consultation visit, Professor Ucer together with his team will examine you and listen to your concerns as well as take any x-rays and 3D diagnostic images as required. They would then discuss the issues, treatment options available to your individual needs, and answer any questions you may have. The overall objective of this visit is for our team to get to know you and learn about your treatment needs as much as possible in order to formulate the most appropriate treatment solution to address your individual needs. As we use some of the best documented and researched implant systems and biomaterials we recommend treatment options totally free of any commercial bias from any particular implant manufacturer or a technique.
During this visit our aim is also to ensure that you fully understand your current dental condition, the alternatives and costs available to you including the implant options, the nature of the treatment, its advantages, disadvantages including risks. We strongly believe in the concept of patient autonomy when it comes to informed consent and want to make sure that you fully understand the nature of the treatment and its expected long term outcome before deciding to proceed.
Once your consultation is completed we will send you ( and your referring dentist) a detailed report, outlining all our findings, diagnosis including treatment options and a fixed cost of treatment ( usually the worst case scenario free of any hidden costs) and alternatives to summarise what was discussed during the consultation.
What outcome can I expect?
We have found that more and more patients are asking about implants as a solution for replacing their missing tooth/ teeth as an alternative to dentures and bridges. Whilst having a fully functioning tooth is extremely important, we have found that some patients are now emphasising increasingly towards the overall cosmetic look and demand that the implant teeth look “very natural”. This aspect is also important to us, and we have mastered the techniques necessary to achieve ideal results.
