The preparation of your mouth before the placement of dental implants is known as pre-prosthetic surgery.
One or more of the following procedures might need to be performed in order to prepare your mouth for a dental implant:
- Bone grafting, smoothing and reshaping
- Gum or Soft tissue surgery to improve the quality and quantity of the gum tissue
- Exposure of impacted teeth
- Extraction of teeth and socket preservation
